Report: Dolphins confident they'll be able to land Peyton Manning

According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, the Dolphins are “very confident” that they’ll be able to sign soon-to-be free agent quarterback Peyton Manning, if he’s healthy.

Once the Colts release Manning on Wednesday, he’ll immediately be a free agent and will be able to sign with any team.

Salguero also mentioned that the Dolphins have had unofficial off the record conversations  with the “Manning camp” over the past three months.  His source wouldn’t indicate whether that meant the Dolphins had actually been in contact with Manning or his agent, since it would be considered tampering, which would violate NFL rules.
