Reggie McKenzie doesn't plan on trading any future high draft picks
During predraft press conference on Wednesday, Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie Mckenzie said that he’s excited about the opportunity to step into the war room and lead his first draft.
“Coach Davis, this has been his deal since the Raiders were the Raiders,” McKenzie told reporters Wednesday at a predraft news conference. “I am the new guy. This is my first time drafting after a legend has been drafting for the Raiders for so long. So it’s huge. But I’m excited about it and looking forward to it.”
McKenzie said that he made sure he upgraded the Raiders personnel department with some new technology and indicated that he’s very happy about it by saying that it went “much better than I expected.”
The good news for the Raiders and their fans is that Mckenzie doesn’t plan on trading any future hight draft picks like they’ve done in the past.
“I do not want to trade future picks — especially high ones,” said Mckenzie.
Even though Al Davis was a legend, he wasted a lot of picks and made a lot of poor decisions at the end of his career that Mckenzie will avoid.
