Panthers not interested in Plaxico Burress

According to Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer, a Carolina Panthers team official told him that they’re not interested in signing free agent wide receiver Plaxico Burress, even though he’s made it clear that he’d love to play for them.
The Observer attempted to reach Burress’ agent Drew Rosenhaus, but were unsuccessful.
I honestly don’t understand why there aren’t more teams interested in Burress. I think he’s gotten past being a diva receiver and had a solid season in 2011 with over 600 yards receiving for a sad Jets offense.
