In his blog over at NFLFilms.com, NFL analyst Greg Cosell compares draft prospects Michael Floyd and Justin Blackmon and comes down on the side of the latter.
Although he thinks Justin Blackmon is a polished receiver and a fine physical specimen, Cosell is worried about what he describes as a “lack of vertical explosiveness.”
Floyd, on the other hand, had more natural burst, in Cosell’s opinion. There was more of a swiftness to his movement through the air. Cosell also points out that Floyd is bigger than Blackmon – 6-2 1/2, 220 as opposed to 6-1, 207. With his skill set and size, Michael Floyd reminds Cosell of an already successful NFL wide receiver – Dwayne Bowe of the Kansas City Chiefs.
