Colts likely switching to a 3-4 defense

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Indianapolis Colts plan on hiring former Steelers linebackers coach Keith Butler as their new defensive coordinator.  This likely means they will make the switch from a 4-3 to a 3-4 defense .

If the Colts are indeed switching their defensive scheme, defensive ends Robert Mathis and Dwight Freeney will likely be on the way out.

Mathis is already going to be a free agent and I could see Freeney getting released or traded.

It’s really crazy watching the Colts dismantle what was once a Super Bowl contending team year in and year out.
