On Monday morning, former New York Giants linebacker Antonio Pierce made an appearance on ESPN Radio’s Mike and Mike in the Morning. He was asked to give his thoughts on the Giants disappointing loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
Pierce said something very interesting that really caught me by surprise, because it was a very poor reason for yesterday’s loss.
In reference to both running back Brandon Jacobs (sprained MCL) and defensive end Justin Tuck (groin, neck stinger) Pierce said, “If you don’t’ have an injury that needs surgery, you need to be out there.”
Are you kidding me Antonio?
It’s funny that Pierce would criticize Tuck, since he’s dealing with a neck injury. I guess he forgot that a neck injury forced him to retire two years ago.
“Tell Antonio he knows my cell phone number if he has anything to say to me,” Tuck replied.
Now don’t get me wrong, I understand Pierce is doing his job. But to rip two of your former teammates for sitting out with legitimate injuries is crazy.
Pierce needs to brush up on his skills as an analyst and realize that the Giants lost because they made too many mistakes and couldn’t run the ball and stop the run.
