Although most NFL scouts and analysts have made glowing remarks about Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III, at least one scout wasn’t too impressed with the Heisman Trophy winner, both on and off the field.
When asked to give a review of the major draft prospects to Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, a number of anonymous scouts championed Griffin’s talent and athleticism. Scout number four, however, opined that his ability “under duress in the pocket isn’t even close to Cam Newton’s.”
He went on to say that the only way Griffin, “gets big plays with his feet is if he’s got a wide-open field and the sea opens for him. He’s got a little bit of a selfish streak, too…. He doesn’t treat anybody good.” McGinn indicated that there was another scout who felt Griffin mistreated people.
These issues notwithstanding, it is widely believed that the Washington Redskins will select RG3 as the second overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft.
