According to Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com, New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker indicated that he “probably” won’t be attending June’s mandatory mini-camp.
“I’m thinking I’m probably not going to, but things could change,” said Welker.
The Patriots placed the franchise tag on Welker earlier in the offseason, but he’s looking for a long-term contract and has yet to sign his tender.
Just over a week ago, it was reported that Welker will likely sign his franchise tender and play out the 2012 season as the Patriots franchise player.
Only time will tell how long Welker intends on holding out.
