Coming on he heels of an 8-8 season the Steelers locker room has been disjointed and lack the cohesiveness has been apparent. From an anonymous teammate calling out LB LaMarr Woodley for being out of shape we may have caught sight of the tip of the iceberg that is the disarray of the Steelers locker room. Safety Ryan Clark used a very appropriate word. “Fractured.” That is very apt to describe what was once considered a very tight locker room.
“We hate being attached to 8-8. So we’re trying to fix that ourselves, through the leaders, through the guys who have been here, we’re trying to implement the old Steeler Way,” Clark said, via Dejan Kovacevic of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “You know, getting along, chemistry, hanging out, working hard on the field but having a good time doing it.”-ProFootballTalk.com August 12th
The team no longer has Hines Ward or Jerome Bettis or other players that have been leaders for this team in past years. Troy Polamalu is no longer the player he once was. Someone will need to srep up and take on a larger leadership role for this team and particularly the defense.
