Former NFL defensive lineman Warren Sapp has been going through a difficult financial time in his life. It was reported about a week ago that he was forced to file for bankruptcy due to his misfortunes.
Sapp recently spoke with the Tampa Bay Times and explained everything he’s been going through.
“Do you think I wanted to declare bankruptcy?” Sapp told the Times. “Do you think if there was any other way possible I would have done it? It was either this or go to jail. Those were my choices.”
Sapp explained that he lost millions after an investment in low-income condos in the Tampa area went belly up.
Things got so bad for Sapp, that for 11 months his earnings from the NFL Network were garnished.
I do feel bad for Sapp and the hard times he’s been forced to endure, but people haven’t been too fond of him lately with the way he’s been running his mouth recklessly. So I don’t expect him to get much sympathy from the public.
