Redskins sign cornerback Leigh Torrence

The Washington Redskins have signed former Saints cornerback Leigh Torrence to a one-year contract. This will be Torrence’s second stint with the Redskins after having been a part of the team from 2006 to 2008.

In four seasons with the Saints, Torrence piled up 66 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 7 passes defended, and 2 interceptions, including a pick six in a blowout win against the Colts last season.  His most significant play with the Saints came late in the fourth quarter of a home game in 2010 against the Steelers when he intercepted Ben Roethlisberger for the game-sealer.
