Maurice Jones-Drew regrets that his situation will negatively affect the Jaguars

Maurice Jones-Drew was accused of punching a security guard on May 25. Jones-Drew met with the media for the first time since then on Monday.

Jones-Drew expressed that he felt it is very unfortunate that this will become a distraction for the Jaguars.

“It’s an unfortunate situation,” Jones-Drew said. “Through my career, I’ve tried to stay out of the media in a negative light and as a distraction to this team.”

He also made it clear that he felt he did no wrong doing.

“It’s the off-season,” he said. “In the off-season, you can go out and do what you like. We went out, we were having a good time and an unfortunate situation happened.”
