Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that wide receiver Mike Wallace is frustrated with his contract situation because he wants to be on the field with his teammates during OTA’s, but he also wants the money he believes he deserves.
“There is a lot of frustration with Mike right now,” Taylor said. “He wants to be here. … But at the same time he wants his paper.
“Mike feels like he outperformed his last contract. But he’s dealing with a monster, and that’s the Pittsburgh Steelers … they are not going to let you dictate to them on how you feel.”
The Steelers placed the franchise tag on Wallace, but so far he hasn’t signed it. If both sides can’t work out a long-term contract by July 15th, he’ll be forced to play the 2012 season under the tag.
