NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Sunday that either Cleveland Browns head coach Mike Pettine and general manager Ray Farmer will be fired this offseason.

This isn’t a surprise since it’s obvious that Pettine doesn’t want Johnny Manziel as his starting quarterback moving forward and Farmer would rather stick with him since he drafted Manziel a couple of years ago in the first round.
Browns owner Jimmy Haslam will have a tough choice to make, but you have to wonder if he’ll lean towards Farmer since Haslam was the one who also really wanted to draft Manziel.
The problem with firing Pettine, is that the Browns will then have to find a head coach that’s willing to stick with and try to develop Manziel in hopes that he’ll actually become a franchise quarterback. And as we know, it’s not a guarantee that Manziel will become great and they could be back at square one in a year or so.
Another problem with sticking with Farmer and Manziel is that even though Manziel has matured a little, he did go out and embarrass the team while partying during their bye week. We know partying isn’t a bad thing, it’s just not a good look for someone to be around alcohol that was just in rehab earlier this year.
