Free agents Charles Johnson and running back DeAngelo Williams will probably be re-signed by the Carolina Panthers since general manager Marty Hurney has indicated that the Panthers know what they’re priorities in free agency will be when it comes to re-signing they’re own players.
Since Julius Peppers left the Panthers via free agency last offseason , Johnson is all they have left when it comes to a legit pro bowl caliber pass rusher. Making sure he stays in Carolina will be important as they re-build towards the future.
Williams on the other hand has been a spark plug for the Panthers since being drafted in the first round of the 2006 draft. He will be a big part in rookie quarterback Cam Newton’s development by continuing to provide the Panthers with a stout running attack that should make things a bit easier for Newton.
