New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker still hasn’t signed his franchise tender and it looks like he doesn’t plan to any time soon. He’s still looking for a lucrative long-term deal that the Patriots seem reluctant to give him.
“Through my body of work, through the past five years, I think what I’ve done I’ve earned a long-term deal,” Welker recently told ESPN Boston Radio. “It’s what I am looking for and what I want. Hopefully that’s the case and hopefully we come to something where we can make that happen.”
Even though Welker may want a long-term deal that will pay him handsomely, the Patriots don’t have a problem playing chicken and not giving in.
