The Houston Texans were expected to be Super Bowl contenders at the beginning of the season. Fast forward to week 13 and you’ll find a 2-11 season and a fired head coach.
When interim head Coach Wade Phillips was asked by Indianapolis reporters (the team is playing the Colts this week) on a conference call about the Texans’ season, Phillips described it as a nightmare.
“Well, it’s obviously a nightmare,” Phillips said. “It’s been so many games and so close, and just not being able to make the one or two plays. It’s not like we’re getting beat by 20 points every game, so it’s been very frustrating.”
Phillips became the interim head coach when Gary Kubiak was fired last week and he will look to become their real head coach next year.
