In order to keep all-pro defensive end Jared Allen fresh during games, Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier plans on reducing his snaps this season.
“We’re going to make a concerted effort to try to get him off the field at times,” Frazier said, per the Pioneer Press. “Without hurting the team. We don’t want to hurt the team. He’s our best pass rusher, one of the best in the NFL.”
“Frazier said he has a snap percentage for Allen in mind, but the final count might depend on game flow and the development of backups such as D’Aundre Reed,” reported Jeremy Fowler of the Pioneer Press.
