The Minnesota Vikings have announced that they’ve signed defensive end Brian Robison to a contract extension.
The Vikings and defensive end Brian Robison have reached agreement on a contract extension, the team announced on Wednesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Robison, a Splendora, Texas native and product of the University of Texas, is in his seventh season with the Vikings after being selected with a fourth-round pick in 2007. He has played in 94 career games with 38 starts, assuming a full-time starting role in 2011.
In seven-plus seasons, Robison has 30.0 career sacks, a total that includes 16.5 since becoming a starter two seasons ago. His 8.5 sacks in 2012 was a career-high. Robison has 1.0 sack this season and leads the team in quarterback hurries with 11.
Robison’s extension is four years, $28.3M with $13.15M guaranteed and $5M to sign. Taking 3-year bridge deal in 2011 paid off. #Vikings
