According to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post, while Victor Cruz is looking for a contract that will pay him $10 million a year with $15-18 million guaranteed, the Giants have only offered more than $7 million with $12-15 million in guaranteed money.
Cruz eyed a deal that averaged at least $10 million per year and the Giants countered with a contract that would pay him more than $7 million per year. It is believed the Giants are offering $12-15 million in guaranteed money and Cruz is seeking $15-18 million in guaranteed money.
Right now it’s makes the most sense for Cruz to sign the Giants offer rather than play out this season and risk an injury. Not to mention that after this season the Giants can place the franchise tag on him, which would keep him from hitting free agency.
