Victor Cruz admits his drops were due to a lack of concentration
New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz probably had his worst game as an NFL player last night when he recorded numerous drops that didn’t help the Giants overcome a 14 point deficit late in the game.
“Victor has on occasion had some concentration drops where he tries to run before he catches the ball,” said Giants head coach Tom Coughlin, per the Newark Star-Ledger. “That’s something he has to continually work on and he’ll work on it again.”
After the game Cruz admitted he wasn’t concentrating well.
“They were just drops,” said Cruz, who was also penalized for a false start and an illegal block. “I just lacked concentration. A couple of them were just me leaving too early before I caught the ball. It is what it is.”
After looking great in the preseason, Cruz had his worst game as a pro, but I’m sure he’ll put this one behind him and move on.
