According to CSNBayArea.com, 49ers tight end Vernon Davis has been medically cleared by an independent neurologist after suffering a concussion during this past Sunday’s game against the Seahawks.
Now Davis must remain symptom free after performing non-contact football work.
The 49ers are scheduled to begin practice Thursday at 1:45 p.m. It is not known if Davis will take part in limited work.
Team Dr. Dan Garza and an independent neurologist cleared Davis to work out, as part of the NFL’s protocol on concussions. Davis did not practice Wednesday, but he is eligible to return to on-field work Thursday.
The final step — contact simulation — can occur at any point before Sunday’s game. The 49ers typically perform the contact simulation test a day or two before the game.
