San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis won’t predict that his team will win this year’s Super Bowl, but he does believe they have the talent to get there.
“We can pick up where we left off,” said Davis, per CSNBayArea.com.
“Each year is different. You never know what’s going to happen. But you have to approach this thing with a winning attitude. You can’t really predict anything. I can’t say we’re going to win the Super Bowl. But all I can say is I strongly believe we have the team to get to that point.”
“I didn’t want to sound too cocky,” Davis said. “I think we have the potential. I think we have a lot of potential, and I’m not wrong for saying that, because of the talent we have. We have a lot of talent around here, and I respect every man on my team. I respect them because I know they are hard workers.
“I’m excited. It makes me excited because I know what we have going forward. If we continue stay out here and put everything together, the potential will all start to show.”
I agree with Davis, but they’re going to need quarterback Alex Smith to continue to step up his play and prove that he can throw the ball more efficiently than last season.
