Tony Romo wants to wait until after the season to talk about a new contract

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones admits that he reached out the reps of quarterback Tony Romo to talk about getting a new contract worked out.

Jones says both sides agreed to wait until after the season to get something done.

“We talked. We thought he had an interest, and he knows we have an interest,” Jones said, per the Dallas Morning News. “But he wants to just concentrate on the season.”

Romo wants to concentrate on the season right now, rather than focusing on a new deal.

“We’re not doing anything on the contract right now,” Jones said. “We just haven’t done anything on it. He’s just concentrating on right now, this year, what he’s doing on the field.

“We’re fine with that, too. He’s not going anywhere.”
