Tony Romo “miles ahead” of last year

tony romoCowboys quarterback Tony Romo claims he is conditioning is a lot better this year then it was last year.

“Miles ahead of last year,’’ Romo said, per the Dallas Morning News. “I don’t think they’re comparable. I think last year I was just starting around this point so this year I’ve had whatever months to kind of get myself into feeling like I can go.

“Now it’s going to be more perfecting as opposed to just trying to hammer everything out in four weeks, three weeks.’’

I believe Romo.  The only thing he’s been able to do for the most part this offseason is work on his conditioning after undergoing back surgery.

Personally, I’d be a lot more convinced if one of the coaches or the team physician made this statement than when Romo does it. I believe his head has convinced his body that he’s invincible. Let’s hold all the progress statements until after Romo takes a blindside shot and gets up to continue playing. Until then, all I see and hear are question marks.
