Tony Romo might be waiting for Joe Flacco to get his new deal before he agrees to an extension

The Dallas Cowboys kicked off contract negotiations with quarterback Tony Romo’s representatives this week.  Before anyone thinks a deal will get done soon, ESPN’s Ed Werder is now convinced that Romo will wait until Joe Flacco signs his extension with the Ravens.

Flacco’s agent started meeting with the Ravens tonight and they’re hoping to get something done before March 4th.

While Romo’s stats are much better than Flacco’s, Flacco has been nothing but  short of great in the playoffs and 2012 of course was nothing different after leading the Ravens to their second Super Bowl title in franchise history.

I don’t think Romo will get the same amount of more money than Flacco, but he might get a tad less.  I could see the Cowboys giving him a $17-$19 million per year deal.
