Tony Romo not expected to play in Dallas’ preseason opener

According to the Dallas Morning news,  the Cowboys plan on not having Tony Romo play in their preseason opener.

The Cowboys’ plan is that Romo doesn’t play in the first preseason game at San Diego on Thursday or in the last preseason game Aug. 28 against Denver.

The Cowboys want Romo to get some work in the second preseason game against Baltimore on Aug. 16 and get his most work of the preseason in the third game at Miami on Aug. 23.

Hopefully this week will be the only time all season Brandon Weeden starts for the Cowboys.
