Tony Gonazalez says today was “probably” his final game

After today’s playoff loss to the 49ers, Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez  wouldn’t give a complete comment on whether he’s going to retire now.  He only said this was “probably” his final game, per Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post.

Last week a teammate of Gonzalez’s said there’s a 97 percent chance he’ll retire.

I’m sure Gonzalez will let things settle down and make a decision in a couple of months on his future.

To Gonzalez: A player’s player. Gone, but honored. What a guy! Thanks for the privilege of being witness to your career.

Worst case scenario for opponents (as a 9ers fan). The utmost respect to a fine competitor and athlete.

You gave so much, so many “Wows, Ahhs!” to fans, teammates AND opponents. … THANK YOU! ..Pretty good for an old Golden Bear. You’re aces, Tony. Most UCB alums can’t even spell “B-E-R-K-E-L-E-Y” or know the name’s history. Suspect you do.

From here, on temps, jack …..
