New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin told the New York Post at the NFL owner’s meetings this week that defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul didn’t play well last season because he was out of shape.
“He didn’t play as well as the year before,” Coughlin said
“He was big when he came to camp,” Coughlin continued.
Coughlin didn’t say Pierre-Paul was fat, just that he wasn’t in shape.
“There’s not a lot of body fat [with Pierre-Paul], yes, but still …” Coughlin said.
It was obvious something was wrong with JPP. He wasn’t the only person to blame though. The entire Giants defensive line was out to lunch the entire season.
