Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Toddy Haley believes wide receiver Mike Wallace will play in their season opener against the Broncos, which is only 11 days away.
“You’re talking about a guy who’s a wide receiver, a pass-catcher,” Haley said per the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “It’s not a running back or someone who has to be in the action of the game. I think it’s feasible he’s ready to go when we start this thing up.”
There’s no doubt in my mind that Wallace will play. I’m sure the Steelers will have to limit his snaps because he’s still learning the new playbook that’s been brought in my Haley and he could also be prone to injuring his hamstring after missing all of training camp.
