Titus Young’s father says his son has a brain disorder

According to the Detroit News, Titus Young’s father said he saw his son on Friday and he seemed to be doing well.  Later in the day he went to his car to get something and drove off.

“We knew that something had happened to him or he was locked up again,” Richard Young said. “His mind is not capable enough to go out and deal with society because of this situation.”

Later that night Young was arrested for a third time in a week.

Richard Young says his son suffers from a a disorder that is caused by his brain being pressed into the front of his head. He said his disposition changed after suffering a concussion during his rookie season that was never documented by the Lions.  Young does have medication for his disorder, but doesn’t take it like he needs to.

A big problem is that Richard says his son isn’t dedicated to his treatment.

“He’s not dealing with it the way he should be,” Richard Young said. “If the judge gives him a court order, then maybe he’ll get the help he needs.”

This makes sense.  I can’t imagine someone being perfectly normal and doing the things that Young has been doing.  I really hope he gets himself together.
