According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, there’s a good chance that Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Steve Smith ends up signing back with the New York Giants in 2012.
Smith signed a one year deal with the Eagles after the lock out ended, in order to prove he’s still a viable NFL receiver after undergoing offseason microfracture surgery.
Smith has really struggled to fit in with the Eagles this season and it’s obvious with his lack of production on the field. He only has 10 receptions for 110 yards and zero touchdowns.
As a member of the Giants, it was clear that Smith was a perfect fit with quarterback Eli Manning and their offensive system.
From what I’ve seen from Smith so far this season, it’s clear he’s not comfortable as an Eagle and even if he doesn’t land back with the Giants next season, I’d be shocked to see him back in Philly.Follow PFZ on Twitter @ProFootballZone
