According to Scott Brown of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, the agent of linebacker James Farrior believes his client could be the next player to get cut, just a day after veteran wide receiver Hines Ward was shown the door.
“It’s not a done deal, but the percentages just aren’t there,” said Ralph Cindrich, who represents Farrior, per the Tribun-Review.
Farrior is going into the Final year of his current contract and is set to make $2.8 million. Releasing him would help the Steelers gain some additional cap relief.
Farrior’s agent hasn’t heard anything from the Steelers about his future and whether they’d like him to take a pay cut or not.
“James wants to play and wants to play with the Steelers,” Cindrich said. “The question is, do they have room for him?”
