Steelers linebacker Jason Worilds told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that progress hasn’t been made towards getting a new contract done.
There has been no progress in negotiating a long-term contract, although Worilds said Tuesday he would welcome one.
“Oh, absolutely, that’s why it’s long-term. You put so much time and effort into it with these guys, you want to be there for the duration of your career. That would be extremely significant.”
It seems like the Steelers are just fine with Worilds playing out this season and then either working on a new deal next offseason or letting him walk in free agency.
