Scott Brown of ESPN.com doesn’t believe the Steelers are in a rush to sign quarterback Ben Roethlusberger to a contract extension.
The Steelers have made it clear that they intend to sign Roethlisberger to an extension and that they want him to play his entire career in Pittsburgh. Yet there doesn’t appear to be any sense of urgency on the Steelers’ part to get something done. It’s going to happen and maybe the two sides are working behind the scenes to get the deal done. But the only certainty in regard to Roethlisberger’s contract situation is that the Steelers will sign him to a new deal at some point. When that happens is anybody’s guess.
