Even before this past season ended, signs have been pointing the to Pittsbursh Steelers letting running back Rashard Mendenhall walk in free agency. Signs continue to point to this being the case.
According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the Steelers don’t expect to re-sign running back Rashard Mendenhall in free agency.
At the end of the day, it doesn’t make sense for the Steelers to re-sign Mendenhall. He tore his ACL in 2011 and had a hard time staying healthy this past season. Mendenhall also may not be a good fit in the Steelers’ new zone-blocking scheme.
