Signs continue to point to the Falcons replacing Michael Turner

It’s mentioned before that it looks like the Atlanta Falcons are likely done with running back Michael Turner after rapidly declining this past season.

According to Dan Pompei of the National Football Post, it looks like the Falcons will be in the market for a running back this offseason.

The Falcons look to be in the running back market this offseason, according to those who know. Chances are the team will cut ties with 30-year old Michael Turner and look for a younger runner. Turner provides toughness, a solid locker room presence and power on downhill runs, but scouts say his ability to bounce and cut isn’t what it was.

Turner is scheduled to make $6.9 million in 2013, which is final year of his current contract.  There’s no way Turner is worth that much money.
