New York Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes was a guest on Pro Football Talk on the NBC Sports Network and admitted that he’s not healthy enough to play in a game right now. He’s continuing to recover from Lisfranc surgery on his foot.
Holmes was also asked why he was willing to restructure his contract this offseason. He made it clear that he wants to only play for the Jets.
I find it interesting that Holmes wants to stick around and play for the Jets with their quarterback problems and circus-like atmosphere.
The key for Holmes this season is to stay healthy and perform at a high level while also staying quiet on and off the field. It seems like his production has tailed off over the past few years. I know injuries and quarterback play have been an issue, but he needs to step up this season.
