We just mentioned in a previous post that the New Orleans Saints and quarterback Drew Brees are about $5 million apart from getting a new deal completed.
According to Jason Cole of Yahoo Sports, Saints general manager Mickey Loomis believes Brees is a “very good” quarerback and not a “great” one. This explains why the $5 million gap exists and is currently holding everything up.
I don’t understand how a general manager like Loomis doesn’t understand that a quarterback who’s a Super Bowl MVP and just recently broke Dan Marino’s single season yardage mark isn’t great.
Saints owner Tom Benson better knock some sense into his general manager before he really messes things up.Follow PFZ on Twitter @ProFootballZone
