Ryan Mathews likely out until October

Dr. Neil Ghodadra told Jason Smith of NFL.com that San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathew likely won’t be back on the field until October.

Ghodadra was the team doctor for the Chicago White Sox and Bulls and says that it will likely take Mathews about eight weeks to be ready.

“It takes six weeks for the bone to heal,” Ghodadra said. “Even after you fix it with the clavicle plate and screws, the bone still has to heal, so you are looking at six weeks for that at minimum. Studies have shown 8.8 weeks is how long it takes for NFL players to get back from clavicle fractures.”

I wouldn’ even think about drafting Mathews for my fantasy team this season.
