Michael Eisen of Giants.com considers Rueben Randle to be the “heavy favorite” going into next season to be New York’s number three receiver alongside Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz.
Randle did finish his rookie year well, including a four-catch, two-touchdown performance in the season-ending victory over Philadelphia. He caught 19 passes in 16 games – 10 of them in 2 games (6 vs. Cleveland and 4 vs. Philadelphia). Clearly, he needs to provide more consistent production. But the Giants believe he will do that as an NFL sophomore. Right now, Randle is the heavy favorite to be the Giants’ third wideout in 2013, withHakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz as the starters. Assuming his stays healthy, I would be very surprised if Randall didn’t at least double his number of reception next season.
The Giants didn’t take Randle in the second round of last year’s draft to sit on the bench and not contribute.
