Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Ronde Barber indicated on Saturday that he’s still unsure whether or not he wants to retire. He’ll become a free agent on March 13th and right now it looks like the Bucs might be willing to sign him to another one year deal if he wants to keep playing.
“Things have to play themselves out, like they did last year,” said Barber. “We’ll have a meeting of the minds, like we did last year, and if I fit in, we’ll go from there.
“I’m not allowing myself to lean one way or the other. I’m pretty sure where I stand, but I haven’t allowed myself to commit.”
The firing of Barber’s friend and former head coach Raheem Morris, could lead to him ending up deciding to retire. He recently met with new head coach Greg Schiano and said, “I think that’s what we were looking for with the hire.”
