The Baltimore Ravens have announced that linebacker Rolando McClain is retiring from the NFL.
The Ravens placed the inside linebacker and former first-round pick on the reserve/retired list Wednesday afternoon, General Manager Ozzie Newsome announced.
“Rolando let me know that he plans to retire from the NFL,” Newsome stated. “We have placed him on the Reserve/Retired list.”
This is quite a shock, since McClain is only 23 years-old. It sounds like he’s giving up on his NFL career after multiple run-ins with the law. I would love to know exactly why he is retiring.
It’s a good thing the Ravens drafted Arthur Brown just a few weeks ago.
