After a rough start to this season, former NFL safety and NBC NFL analyst Rodney Harrison took some shots at the Giants last week.
“I don’t know if they’re sitting back shining their Super Bowl rings too much at home, but they’re certainly not a good football team now,” former New England Patriots safety and current NBC studio commentator Rodney Harrison told the New York Times last week per the Newark Star-Ledger.
“Eli (Manning), he’s your main guy and he’s playing terrible. On defense, Justin Tuck? He’s on his last legs.”
After this past Monday’s big win over the Vikings, Tuck fired back at Harrison.
“He would know,” Tuck told The Star-Ledger. “He has been there before. I really don’t … That’s his opinion.”
Tuck believes he’s played well even if his stats don’t show it.
“I think I’ve played pretty good this year but the stats haven’t really showed it,” said Tuck, who has 28 tackles (five tackles for loss), seven quarterback hurries and one pass defense this season. “I think I’ve been in the right position on all plays.
“Monday night, the opportunities to make the plays were there. You have to take advantage of those opportunities and that’s what I did. Going forward, hopefully I’ll have more opportunities.”
I agree with Harrison. It seems like Tuck has been on his last legs for the past three years even though he’s played the run very well this season.
