According to NFL.com’s Around the League, on this year’s “Top 100 Players of 2013,” Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman told the NFL Network that Roddy White wasn’t deserved of his 39th overall ranking.
Of course White found some time to fire back at Sherman.
“I’m not going to come out and say he shouldn’t be a Top 100 player because he should be a Top 100 player, but he talks too much,” White said. “He has talked himself into a place where he has to play some really good football this year. I have no problem when he says I’m not that good or I can’t do this or I can’t do that. But I know the rest of the players in this league know what I can do, and that’s why I’m higher on this list than he is.”
“He would actually be the first guy that I would want to face,” White said. “Frankly, I watch film and I know what I can do. I know what my ability is, I know what his ability is. I sit there and watch him and I’m like, OK. I’m not sitting there, losing any sleep getting ready for Richard Sherman.”
White kept going off saying that Sherman “talked his way into being All-Pro.”
“He’s a front-runner,” White said. “When things are going good, he’s all good. When things ain’t going his way, he has nothing to say — that’s just how he is. You let him talk in the offseason because that’s what he likes to do. You let guys like that talk, but at some point when September rolls around, you got to come play football.”
This feud is far from over. Things will get interesting when the Falcons and Seahawks face off during week 10 of the regular season.
