After working out at the University of South Florida with former NFL head coach and current ESPN analyst Jon Gruden for his ESPN show, Gruden’s quarterback Camp, quarterback Robert Griffin III indicated that he’s not ready to say that Andrew Luck will be the first overall pick in April’s draft.
“If you say you don’t want to be picked No. 1, that means you’re not a competitor,” Griffin said. “In my mind, there are two No. 1 picks this year and you never know what’s going to happen on draft day.”
We certainly can’t rule out the Colts surprising everyone and drafting Griffin III, but there’s probably a 99.9% chance they end up taking Andrew Luck first overall.
Colts owner Jim Irsay resurrected the Colts franchise with Peyton Manning and Luck closely resembles Manning, so I would think he’d want to go with a guy that’s similar to Manning..Follow PFZ on Twitter @ProFootballZone
