Rob Gronkowski practices in full pads

According to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald,  Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski practiced in full pads on Sunday.

There was a huge development today at Gillette Stadium, where tight end Rob Gronkowski was in full pads for practice for the first time all season.

Gronkowski participated in the stretching portion and positional drills during the 15-minute media access. During positional drills, Gronkowski worked with the other tight ends on blocking technique, as they worked out of a three-point stance and engaged with tight ends coach George Godsey. Gronkowski was going at a lighter speed than teammates Zach Sudfeld, Michael Hoomanawanui and fullback James Develin in the drill. They then worked on short passing routes, running off the line and coming out of their breaks before catching a quick pass.

No one knows if Gronk will be ready for week one, but this is certainly a good sign that he’s making progress.
