The Washington Redskins announced on Tuesday that Robert Griffin III’s teammates voted him as this year’s Ed Block Courage Award winner.
True to his word, Griffin III was ready for Week 1, returning to football 242 days after suffering a catastrophic knee injury against the Seattle Seahawks in the 2012 postseason.
The quarterback passed for 329 yards, threw two touchdowns and completed 61.2 percent of his passes against the Philadelphia Eagles after missing the entire preseason. He went on to start all 13 games he participated in and threw for a career-high 3,202 yards.
Congrats to RG3 for his accomplishment.
