Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III sounds like he’s ready to run the ball a lot more from here on out this season.
“Everybody wants me to slide and get out of bounds and do that whole thing,” Griffin said via the Washington Times. “For me, I can’t really listen to that. It’s not that you ignore it. I understand that people are concerned. But at the end of the day you have to go out there and play with your instincts.”
Griffin claims that he’s able to run more because his knee feels better.
Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan sounds like he supports RG3 running the ball more.
“He’s got to be himself. Robert is Robert,” Washington coach Mike Shanahan said. “We don’t ask quarterbacks to do anything in particular. We have a game plan going in. Whatever that game plan may be, we are hoping they execute it.”
Griffin can run all he wants, but he may not be able to make it through the season in one piece.
