San Francisco 49ers cornerback Carlos Rogers told the media on Tuesday that he felt like the Jets’ defense didn’t want to be on the field at one point during last week’s blow out loss.
Jets head coach Rex Ryan addressed Rogers’ comments today.
“I think when you look at it, certainly we didn’t play well, it’s obvious we didn’t play well to his standards, either,” Ryan said. “I think we have a reputation in this league as being a tremendous defense and we didn’t play that way. As far as us quitting, there’s no way. That wasn’t the case.
“I think it does show that other teams expect a lot out of this defense but obviously not more than we expect from ourselves.”
During last Sunday’s blow out I’m sure many of the Jets’ defenders didn’t want to be on the field any longer.
